Axis renewed its support of the community Junior Football Club, Danson Sports Football Club, providing sponsorship for a second team’s 2010 kit, having supplied the same for a first team in 2009. The funding and additional equipment allowed the club to increase the number of spaces available to children in its local community and form a new under ten (year olds) team.
‘Hopefully our sponsorship will allow the club to continue its grass roots programme, providing valuable social skills and exposure to the importance of disciplines and values to the young children’ commented John Hayes, Axis Chief Executive.
The clubs moto is, ‘every child deserves a chance’, which is something Axis strongly support and that mirrors its own corporate values.
Danson Sports F.C (formally Danson Boys) was formed in 2005 in Bexley. The idea was to give local children in the community the chance to interact and have an outlet for energy and creativity through football. There are currently 16 teams, catering for 170 children, ranging between under six right up to fifteen. The club also coaches approx 25 children aged 4 and 5 in the basics of football.
Alan Spooner, Assistant Secretary, Danson Sports F.C. said, ‘we would like to thank Axis for the funding they have given to the club in the last 2 seasons’ and added ‘without funding the club would find it impossible to continue providing the necessary equipment to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for the children.’
