New major works contract with City West

Posted on

We are building on a great relationship to provide better living standards and employment for CityWest residents. Having delivered refurbishment across CityWest’s properties for eight years, Axis has been awarded a new contract to deliver major refurbishment works across their estates in order to provide a better quality service, greater value for money as well as employment opportunities for residents.

Our team will undertake works to improve homes spread across the north of the borough, delivering their planned refurbishment works over the next 10 years – our longest contract of this nature.

On announcing the appointment CityWest said; the partnership will encourage best practice, quality and value for money throughout all projects and that Axis knowledge of their properties and area would ensure maximum efficiency. This new contract is projected to deliver the client savings of £28 million through massively reducing procurement costs.

As well as aiming to improve homes, City West’s new contracts are estimated to provide 400 job opportunities for Westminster residents over the next 10 years, as well as training and apprenticeship opportunities.

Cllr Robathan, Cabinet Member for Housing said: “As well as continuing to build new affordable homes across Westminster, it is really important that we look after our existing properties and the families who call them home. Not only will these contracts ensure that Westminster’s housing is maintained to the highest possible standard, but they will also offer employment opportunities for our residents allowing them to make the best of their lives in the centre of London.”

The contract will start to deliver major works across Westminster from December 2017 until 2027.
