Exova BM TRADA Q-Mark Fire Door Maintenance Scheme Accreditation

Posted on

We are pleased to announce that we have now achieved the Exova BM TRADA Q-Mark Fire Door Maintenance Scheme accreditation. This accreditation means that we are able to carry out certified fire door maintenance repairs and clients can trust in us to ensure that we safely inspect and repair fire doors.

Currently, twenty one of our people have completed the course. These include Jason Plunkett- Senior Supervisor based at Croydon, Robert Edgson- Senior Supervisor based at Stratford and Robert Cook- Contracts Manager based at Oldbury. All three passed the required exam and are now responsible for maintaining the scheme standards by ensuring that all processes are followed correctly at their respective offices.

The course consisted of two days of training whereby our operatives and supervisory staff were introduced to fire doors and taught how to properly inspect doors for non compliance and then carry out the necessary repairs using Approved Repairs Techniques.

Axis is audited every six months in order to ensure that we are fully compliant with Q Mark guidelines and performing to a consistently high level. The accreditation is a nationally respected mark of quality and means that clients can rest assured in the knowledge that we have operatives who are trained to carry out certified repairs to fire doors while ensuring that correct procedures and materials are used.

Commitment to health and safety is one of our core values as we believe that it benefits everyone and that is why it is our priority. Accreditation is affirmation that we share Exova BM Trada’s mission of ensuring the health and safety of our people and clients.

Steve Jennings, Divisional Manager commented: “Gaining accreditation to the Exova BM Trada Q Mark Fire Door Maintenance scheme has helped cement Axis ability to provide a full compliance service to existing and new clients alike.

Fire safety is a massive issue within social housing and having correctly trained operatives and the means to be able to survey and repair fire doors to a certified standard will provide assurance to clients that the integrity of existing fire doors will be maintained or improved which in turn helps safeguard residents and properties.”
