Axis has been awarded the Repairs and Maintenance contract with social housing provider Accent Housing in the South of England.
Accent Housing currently own and manage over 20,000 homes spread over the North, East and South of the country, and plan on building another 500 every year by 2023.
The 20-month contract, valued at £1.6m per annum, was awarded to Axis following the end of agreements with their previous contractors. Axis started delivering repairs three weeks early to help Accent Housing and the residents through the transition period before becoming fully operational earlier this month (November).
The contract covers several repair types including carpentry, electrical and plumbing works, however, gas servicing and maintenance works will continue to be delivered by a pre-existing contractor. It is estimated that there will be over 10,000 annual repairs to around 4,000 properties in and around Surrey, Hampshire, Kent and Sussex. There will also be the opportunity for Axis to deliver void works to over 350 properties per year from April 2020.
Customer Experience Director Robert Mills said: “We are absolutely delighted to be working with Axis. Although the contract is in its early stages, it is already having a positive impact. I look forward to us continuing to work together in the future to deliver the quality repairs and maintenance service our customers are entitled to expect.”
Axis will be utilising its Fast, Lean and Smart (FLS) application to allocate jobs to local operatives to expedite response times and provide residents with a high-quality resolve to unexpected problems.
