Projects Team Climb Snowdon for Demelza

Posted on

On Saturday 17th March eight courageous employees from Axis Projects Team climbed Snowdon raising over £3,000 for our charity partner, Demelza Children’s Hospice.

From the very start of the day the team knew they were going to endure difficult weather conditions as they were informed that no train services were running. Marc Jeffrey, Divisional Manager explained, “We reached the half way point and had to use the handrail to hold on, the bursts of wind were so strong. At one point I took a sip of my water, then 20 minutes later it had completely frozen over!”

Despite facing 120mph winds and temperatures reaching -8 degrees, the team battled through and completed the challenge in an admirable 5 hours.

Commenting on the experience Dave Allen, Contract Manager said, “The team were outstanding and determined to climb to the top and not accept defeat. The best part of the weekend was achieving our goal and reaching the top with such a great team. Now we need to think about our next challenge!”
