Investors in People Accreditation

We are delighted to announce that Axis has achieved a Silver level accreditation from Investors in People in relation to our ongoing commitment to supporting our people, leadership and a focus on continual improvement.

Axis has been accredited with the Investors in People Standard since 2004. Our last assessment was in 2013 and resulted in a Bronze accreditation, so this recent result recognises progress has been achieved.

The assessment was rigorous and involved all of the Axis people being surveyed online and 35 undertaking one to one interviews. Those involved were selected to gain responses from right across the business.

The Investors in People Framework revolves around nine key indicators of high performance each based on three themes. The themes focus on a company’s commitment to leading, improving and supporting its people. In order to achieve accreditation we were assessed against these themes and indicators.

One of our keys values is to train and develop people as we believe that your growth becomes our growth. The report recognised that there is “a real commitment to growing people’s careers at Axis”. We have invested in development of our technical skill-base and leadership skills to ensure that Axis people are supported in their personal and professional growth – The Institute of Leadership Management course that 48 of our managers have completed is one example of this investment. Leadership is about leading and inspiring people and Axis recognise how it is the way that people are led, managed and developed which is key in maintaining performance and ensuring success.

The report also praises our ability to communicate company and team objectives through roadshows, toolbox talks and our intranet and company newsletters – Axis All Areas, this recognises the importance of engaging with people and helping everyone understand how they fit into the big picture.

Recent corporate initiatives, such as Dash for Digital, management conferences and updated appraisals were also said to contribute. A sense of teamwork was also said to be evident throughout all areas of the company and it was acknowledged that people and management are living the values. All of which is great!

We are proud to hold this accreditation and are thrilled at the progress from Bronze to a Silver level. It is a result that belongs to and should be celebrated by everyone in the business, those who are building their careers and those of their teams.
