Axis upgraded seven meeting rooms for a financial institution on the 16th floor of their Canary Wharf office. As principal contractor, we were tasked with upgrading the rooms to make them more stimulating environments whilst taking care to not disrupt business. We worked on a 24-hour basis to condense the contract into a 6-week programme. Disruptive and noisy works were undertaken outside of normal working hours so employees weren’t inconvenienced or distracted.
Part of the scope of works involved replacing the ceilings and, subsequently, the lighting. As this was very intrusive, we strategized to undertake this scope of work when the rooms were free and made the most of night time work. This considerate approach was also taken when it came to replacing the joinery.
Painting, new carpets and decorative works completed the project. The results were bright and spacious rooms that were more comfortable for employees and their guests, giving them a better space to be productive in. Our approach also meant the project was completed on time, within budget and to the satisfaction of all parties.
