Marlowe House Conversion

Axis was awarded the contract to convert office space at Marlowe House in Sidcup as part of a four year framework agreement to provide construction and refurbishment services to Met Police properties. The new facility includes bleep test tracks, a functional work-out area, changing and shower facilities.

Axis undertook structural investigations prior to commencing the alteration work and then prepared the building by stripping out suspended ceilings, removing redundant partition walls, pulling up the flooring, taking down an existing kitchen and carrying out minor building repairs ready for the new installations. With the area stripped back to a shell, Axis started the installation process by providing fire compartmentation to the rooms and within the ceiling. The design and installation elements incorporated; rewiring, LED lighting, air conditioning and ventilation. Fabric changes provided; a new suspended ceiling, timber door and frame installation, window overhaul and replacement flooring (tiling, vinyl, and mat).
